Athematic -μι verbs Four classes of -μι verbs [acc. to stem vowel] ο-class vowel verbs – δίδωμι (*δο) α-class – ἵστημι (*στα) ε-class – τίθημι (*θε) υ-class – δείκνυμι (*δεικνυ)  If know one pattern you can conjugate all verbs in the same class

Athematic -μι verbs 2.1 The five rules 1.) Rule I Reduplication of the initial stem letter AND the separation of the reduplicated consonant w/ iota Applies only to formation of the PRESENT tense The root of δίδωμι is *δο δο – διδο – διδω  δίδωμι Reduplication of iota only in present and imperfect Reduplication of the PERFECT is -ε instead of -ι  δο – δεδο  δέδωκα
