Verbs The usual three person (1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd ) exist in Greek as in English in singular and plural. verbs change their morphology (mostly their endings) But, in Greek, verbs change their morphology (mostly their endings) according the person (as in English for the 3 rd person only).

1 st person- singular- present When I speak about my self in present, ωμαι I use a verb that ends on –ω [o] or –μαι [me] Active verbs end in –ω. I do the action, for example, εγώ μαθαίνω ελληνικά (I learn Greek). Passive verbs end in –ομαι I do not do anything. The action happens to me, for example, ονομάζομαι ( = I am called (people call me) / my name is..)
