2 Aorist Adverbial Participle
1.1 Aorist Participle Formed from aorist stem, indicates undefined action Aspect not the time ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ βασιλὲυς Ἡρῳδης ἐταράχθη But when king Herod heard this, he was troubled Difficult to carry the idea of aorist participle into English “after” can be used in aor. part. like “while” in pr. participle οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες τοῦ βασιλέως ἐπορεύθησαν And after hearing the king, they went on their way (Matt 2:9)
