1 TEMA 3 TEST OF EARLY MATHEMATICAL ABILITY (Ginsburger & Baroody 2003) To test απευθύνεται σε παιδιά ηλικίας 3 έως και 8 ετών κ 11 μηνών και ο σκοπός του είναι: 1.Η ανίχνευση των παιδιών που προηγούνται ή υπολείπονται των συμμαθητών τους ως προς τη μαθηματική σκέψη. 2.Να εντοπίσει τις αδυναμίες και τα δυνατά σημεία κάθε μαθητή. 3.Να καταγράψει την πρόοδο των μαθητών στο πέρασμα του χρόνου. 4.Να καταγράψει τι αποκομίζουν τα παιδιά από την μαθηματική σχολική εκπαίδευση (formal knowledge) και την καθημερινή τους εμπειρία (informal knowledge) 5.Να προτείνει τρόπους ενίσχυσης των μαθητών

2 Το ΤΕΜΑ εξετάζει τις ακόλουθες γνώσεις: Απαρίθμηση (counting) Υπολογισμοί (calculation) Σχετικό μέγεθος αριθμών (relative magnitude of numbers) Έννοιες τις δεκαδικής δομής των αριθμών (base 10 concepts) Number facts (2+2=4, 4+4=8) κλπ

3 Το τεστ για τα παιδιά 3 ετών Περιέχει «ασκήσεις» από τη λεγόμενη “pre-counting phase” Προτού τα παιδιά να είναι ικανά να απαριθμήσουν ένα σύνολο αντικειμένων, φαίνεται να έχουν μια πρώτη κατανόηση των αριθμών και των πράξεων της πρόσθεσης και της αφαίρεσης (θυμήσου το πείραμα της Wynn για την (+) και (-) στα βρέφη). Αυτό εικάζεται ότι είναι μια έμφυτη ικανότητα και ότι ενεργούν με νοητικές εικόνες (mental images)
