2 Historical Background (1990 – 2015)
Early 80’s: First attempts to form an Institution that deals with Domestic Violence in Cyprus 1990: The Association was founded 1994: The Parliament voted the first law on Domestic Violence 1997: A Shelter was created for battered women and their children. 2006: A programme for the behavioral re-modification of perpetrators was introduced 2014: A second shelter was created in Paphos : A new shelter is under construction with the support of the Norway Grants

3 Programmes National Helpline for domestic violence (1440)
Providing crisis counseling. Cooperating with competent services. Providing basic information regarding rights, legal rights and procedures and choices of caller in order to decide how to proceed. II. Personal Counseling Provide individual support and counseling psychologists and social workers. Τα παιδιά που έχουν υποστεί ενδοοικογενειακή βία στην Κύπρο, έχουν 27% πιθανότητες να είναι θύματα στην μετέπειτα ζωή τους, όπως και 17% να ασκήσουν τα ίδια βία.

It is for temporary stay . Our shelters can assist 17 person maximum at the same time. 5 Programme “Love Without Hurt”
The programme is designed to help both individuals who perpetrate domestic violence, as well as individuals who experience domestic violence. The programme aims to weaken negative emotions such as anger, resentment and negative mood and to strengthen the relationship with loved ones. European Helpline for Children and Adolescents The line is providing a gateway to children in need of care and protection to services and resources. This is part of a European Harmonized Number for Child Helpline Services.

6 European Hotline for Missing Children
The implementation of the project has a two-fold purpose: Preventing the phenomenon of child disappearances; Responding adequately to families who have reported a case of missing child/children.
