1 A week dedicated to our Comenius Project As we had our final Comenius meeting in May we decided to dedicate the whole week to Comenius and the European Union and cooperation. On Monday all the work that was produced during the two years of our project was gathered and exhibited at the entrance of our school, where children and parents had the chance to go through it. On that day teachers from Germany arrived and we had them teaching in our school for two days. They presented their country and city to many classes. They also made some with their linked classes. On Thursday the rest of the teachers came to our school. The children and teachers prepared a small welcome ceremony. Some countries lent us traditional or school costumes. The children were dressed up both in traditional Cypriot costumes and the costumes of our partners. The song “We are the world, we are the children” was sang and the teachers were treated traditional Cypriot sweets. During their stay, the teachers had a guided tour around the school by the students and had the chance to observe lessons. In the afternoon we organized a guided tour at the mountain village of Kalopanayiotis and dinner with traditional food and wine at the coordinator’s house! On Friday we had a meeting for the evaluation of the project in the morning and a show in the afternoon. We had our Comenius show divided in two parts. At the first part we had a power point presentation with Comenius memories of the two years of the project. Children presented a memoir of the meetings, teacher exchange and linked classes projects. On the second part we had a show around Cypriot tradition with small acts, dancing, singing and traditional Cypriot bites and drink. And on Saturday we spent the whole day at the beach. At night we had a goodbye dinner with dancing, singing, tears and laughter.

2 Η τελική διακρατική συνάντηση έγινε στην Κύπρο το Μάιο 2011. Αποφασίσαμε λοιπόν να αφιερώσουμε την εβδομάδα 23-29 Μαΐου στο πρόγραμμα Comenius και στην Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και συνεργασία. Τη Δευτέρα, όλο το έργο που παρήχθη κατά τη διάρκεια των δύο ετών του έργου μας ήταν συγκεντρωμένο σε μια έκθεση στην είσοδο του σχολείου μας, όπου τα παιδιά και οι γονείς είχαν την ευκαιρία να το δουν. Την ίδια μέρα έφτασαν στην Κύπρο τρεις εκπαιδευτικοί από τη Γερμανία. Τις είχαμε μαζί μας για δύο μέρες για να διδάξουν στο σχολείο μας. Παρουσίασαν τη χώρα και την πόλη τους σε πολλές ομάδες. Πέρασαν όμως τον περισσότερο χρόνο στις τάξεις με τις οποίες αντάλλασαν υλικό κατά τη διάρκεια των δύο χρόνων. Την Πέμπτη οι υπόλοιποι δάσκαλοι ήρθαν στο σχολείο μας. Τα παιδιά και οι εκπαιδευτικοί προετοιμάζονται μια μικρή τελετή υποδοχής. Ορισμένες χώρες μας δάνεισαν παραδοσιακές φορεσιές ή σχολικές στολές. Τα παιδιά ήταν ντυμένα τόσο σε κυπριακές παραδοσιακές στολές και τα κοστούμια των εταίρων μας. Τραγούδησαν το τραγούδι «We are the world», παρουσιάστηκαν οι εκπαιδευτικοί από τις διάφορες χώρες και τα παιδιά κέρασαν παραδοσιακά γλυκά της Κύπρου. Κατά τη διάρκεια της παραμονής τους, οι εταίροι είχαν μια οργανωμένη περιήγηση γύρω από το σχολείο από τους μαθητές και είχαν την ευκαιρία να παρατηρήσουν τα μαθήματα. Το απόγευμα οργανώθηκε μια ξενάγηση στο ορεινό χωριό του Καλοπαναγιώτη και δείπνο με παραδοσιακό φαγητό και κρασί στο σπίτι της συντονίστριας! Την Παρασκευή είχαμε μια συνάντηση για την αξιολόγηση του έργου το πρωί και τη γιορτή αφιερωμένη στο πρόγραμμα το απόγευμα. Η γιορτή μας χωρίστηκε σε δύο μέρη: στην παρουσίαση των δραστηριοτήτων του προγράμματος Comenius και σε ένα αφιέρωμα στην κυπριακή παράδοση με μικρές θεατρικές πράξεις, χορό, τραγούδι και παραδοσιακά τσιμπήματα και ποτά. Το Σάββατο, περάσαμε όλη την ημέρα στην παραλία! Το βράδυ είχαμε ένα αποχαιρετιστήριο δείπνο με χορό, τραγούδι, τα δάκρυα και γέλιο. Μια εβδομάδα αφιερωμένη στο πρόγραμμα Comenius
