11 CAS Creativity, Action, Service Το πρόγραμμα Δημιουργικότητας, Δραστηριότητας και Εθελοντισμού αποτελεί συστατικό στοιχείο του διπλώματος ΙΒ. Δίνει την ευκαιρία στους μαθητές να μάθουν μέσω της άμεσης εμπειρίας τους και να συνεισφέρουν στην ευρύτερη κοινότητά τους. Η βασική ιδέα του CAS συμπυκνώνεται στην άποψη ότι χρειάζεται να εκπαιδεύσουμε τους μαθητές στην ενεργητική συμμετοχή, δίνοντάς τους έτσι τα εργαλεία ώστε να εξελιχθούν στη συνέχεια σε ενεργούς πολίτες.

13 CAS Το πρόγραμμα Δημιουργικότητας, Δραστηριότητας και Εθελοντισμού αποτελεί συστατικό στοιχείο του διπλώματος ΙΒ. Δίνει την ευκαιρία στους μαθητές να μάθουν μέσω της άμεσης εμπειρίας τους και να συνεισφέρουν στην ευρύτερη κοινότητά τους. Η βασική ιδέα του CAS συμπυκνώνεται στην άποψη ότι χρειάζεται να εκπαιδεύσουμε τους μαθητές στην ενεργητική συμμετοχή, δίνοντάς τους έτσι τα εργαλεία ώστε να εξελιχθούν στη συνέχεια σε ενεργούς πολίτες.

14 Αξιολόγηση – Εξετάσεις Assessment - Exams §Συνδυασμός εξωτερικής και εσωτερικής αξιολόγησης §Combination of internally assessed, externally moderated / externally assessed work §30% περίπου της τελικής βαθμολογίας σε κάθε μάθημα διαμορφώνεται από την πορεία του παιδιού κατά τη διετία φοίτησης στο σχολείο (εσωτερική αξιολόγηση) §70% περίπου της τελικής βαθμολογίας σε κάθε μάθημα διαμορφώνεται από τις τελικές εξετάσεις (Μάιος 2014) και τις εργασίες που στέλνονται για βαθμολόγηση απευθείας σε εξωτερικούς βαθμολογητές του ΙΒΟ (εξωτερική αξιολόγηση)

16 ΙΒ και Ελληνικό κράτος The IB recognition in Greece §Από τον Ιούλιο του 1995 έχει ψηφιστεί από το κοινοβούλιο νόμος για την ίδρυση και λειτουργία τμημάτων του Διεθνούς Aπολυτηρίου σε Ελληνικά Λύκεια, δημόσια και ιδιωτικά §Ο τίτλος του ΙΒ είναι ισότιμος και αντίστοιχος του τίτλου του Γενικού Λυκείου. §Οι κάτοχοι του ΙΒ μπορούν να διεκδικήσουν θέση σε ανώτερα και ανώτατα εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα της ημεδαπής δίνοντας εξετάσεις στα πανελληνίως γραπτώς εξεταζόμενα μαθήματα της Γ Λυκείου. §Απόφοιτοί μας εργάζονται ήδη στο ελληνικό δημόσιο (ΟΤΕ, Νοσοκομεία, Πανεπιστημιακές σχολές κλπ).

19 Grade Inflation? Consistency in Assessment provides confidence to both Parents and University Admissions officials. Official DP results have remained consistent for the last 20 years. Maximum Diploma points of 45 is very rare with only about 0.2% of candidates achieving this score. The highest subject grade (7 points) is hard to achieve with only about 8% obtaining the top grade in a particular subject. Average Diploma Points: World (29.6), ISA (30) Average Grade per Subject: World (4.7), ISA (4.9)

20 University Perceptions of the DP Brown has accepted the IB diploma for approximately 40 years. We welcome applications from all educational systems and value the wisdom of each system, but would like to note that we regard the IB as rigorous preparation for a highly selective educational institution. The IB provides the kind of curriculum and preparation we expect to see from our stronger applicants Panetha Ott Director of International Admission Brown University Universities recognise that the IB is a package which goes beyond the academic disciplines and the university admissions officers no longer focus entirely on the three HL subjects and equate those to A levels. They also recognise the considerable achievement of IB candidates across the Standard Level subjects, Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and CAS as well, and now ask for total points scores. 21 Dr. Pretzel (Mathematics Admissions, Imperial College) was satisfied with the depth of preparation of DP students and, in particular, he commented favourably on the consistency of standards over the last ten years, particularly as A-levels seemed to fluctuate. He also prefers the style of DP Mathematics examinations, which are far less leading than those of A-level papers and therefore more truly testing of students’ mathematical training. Dr. Duranton (Reader in Economic Geography, LSE) was generally satisfied that students admitted with DP qualifications brought many skills necessary to make good university students and that it was the total curriculum that gave them these qualities.
