Educational activities of IIT SUMMARY OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES The educational activities of IIT are two-fold: PhD and other degrees joint PhD programs with leading Greek and foreign universities joint post-graduate programs post- and undergraduate theses supervision internship programs Summer Schools and training/networking activities research-oriented summer schools study abroad programs lectures and seminars training events visits of schools

6 PhD and other degrees PhD Degrees IIT hosts students who complete their PhD work at its premises supervised by IIT researchers. During , 45 candidates completed their research work and were awarded a PhD degree 18 are currently in progress “Best PhD Thesis awards in the area of Informatics and Telematics” to IIT students in the annual competitions organised by CERTH-ITI George Alexandropoulos in 2010 (Fotis Lazarakis) Nikolaos Stamatopoulos in 2011 (Vassilis Gatos)
