SAFETY & SECURITY WINDOW FILM 3  Security window film is designed to make marine window glass safer; it does this by strengthening it against breakage. Security window film has a clear appearance (making it suitable for all navigational windows); it works by holding dangerous shards of shattered glass together in one mass, when breakage occurs.  Security window film is an essential part of your piracy prevention program for protecting our crew and our vessel in the event of a terrorist attack, explosion or a criminal attempt to seize our vessel. Once installed security window film is unseen to the eye due to its clear appearance, and acts as an invisible protector for our crew & passengers. Security window film offers peace of mind while at sea and increases overall vessel safety.  If an explosion occurs, the blast may cause the window glass to shatter or implode. The tiny pieces of toughened glass act like small high speed bullets which shower the crew and interior of your vessel. This can often be a much greater threat to life than the initial explosion. Security window film reduces this threat significantly, giving the crew a much better chance of escaping injury or death.  Please note that security window film is not a bullet proof solution. There are no safety films on the international market which can prevent bullets entering through glass. The only solution for bullet prevention is to install bullet proof glass, which can be an expensive process. Security window film reduces the impact of bullets significantly – but it is not bullet proof.  It has been requested by our clients during their security assessment on our managed vessels
